Christmas Décor We Just Can’t Live Without!

Christmas is right around the corner, and if you've held out this long from decorating, we applaud you! But if Christmas cheer took over right after Halloween and you just couldn't help yourself, there's no shame, and you won't get any judgment for us.

Look, we get how exciting the holidays are, and everyone just wants to feel warm and fuzzy. So, as your favorite local interior designers, Jordan Morrissey Interior Design has put together a list of some Christmas décor that we just can't live without.

Large Flocked Christmas Tree

If you were following us last year, we explained why flocked trees are the best! These trees look spectacular in front of large windows or in any room with high ceilings. And if you have a larger home, it’s always best to go big here! Flocked Christmas trees not only elevate the space, but they give your home that polished look without much effort. They’re beautiful all by themselves and don’t require much decorating unless you want to. We found some great options on Amazon, but you can also find these in retail stores or other online sites like King of Christmas.

Oversized Ornaments

Oversized ornaments aren't just for your large tree. They're also great for decorative displays above entryways and around the fireplace mantle. They come in so many great colors that you really can't go wrong when trying to find some that match your existing holiday décor. Furthermore, they're a relatively inexpensive way to add a touch of luxury throughout the home without going overboard.

Large Door Wreaths

Door wreaths are everywhere these days, but they're almost a must for a larger home! Look for a large wreath that matches your tree or one that you can add to. We also recommend going with one that has fake flowers and arrangements, so you don't have to worry about exchanging dull or dead flowers. And you don't have to strictly hang these on the front door. You can also hang them above the fireplace, in the dining room as wall art, or on any blank exterior wall that faces the street.

Garland

Nothing welcomes guests like a garland-strung doorway. Garland is an easy, affordable, and elegant way to add holiday cheer to your home. In fact, it's one of our top favorites, especially the strands that come with lights built in. You can find these in just about every retail store or from FrontGate.com. Plus, they come in all sizes and needle types, so you can find one that you love that will really bring the festivities home. We even love hanging garland around the window above the kitchen sink. It makes this space feel connected with the rest of the home without taking up precious counter space.

Ornament Bowls

Similar to how you might use oversized ornaments, an ornament bowl is ideal for homes with smaller islands, coffee tables, or dining room tables. These bowls make perfect centerpieces that are simple and elegant. You can simply add some of your favorite scented pine cones or cinnamon sticks to give the room that cozy Christmas aroma.

Hallway Stockings

Stockings don't just have to hang above the fireplace on the mantel. They can also be a great way to decorate your staircase and banisters. Putting the kids' stockings along the railing will give this area of your home that Christmas feeling without it being too much. It's also a great way to spread out your decorations if you're going for a minimalist look this year.

Spread Some Holiday Cheer With Your Décor

No matter how you decorate your home, we ask that you keep one thing in mind: Make it uniquely your own. Your home reflects who you are and your style, and your Christmas or holiday décor can reflect the same. We hope these tips help you this year and remember to check out our Pinterest Board full of Christmas decorating ideas for 2022!
